Who is responsible
This website is operated by Jay Luhar, an independent consultant based in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for personal data collected through it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can get in touch through the contact page or on LinkedIn.
What I collect
- Enquiry form: your name, email, and anything else you choose to share (company, role, organisation type, area of interest, timeline and message).
- Booking a call: if you book through the scheduling link, the scheduling provider collects the details it needs to arrange the meeting, under its own privacy policy.
- Server logs: the hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss potential work — based on your consent and on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse — based on legitimate interests.
Your details are never sold, never added to a mailing list without your separate agreement, and never shared except with the service providers needed to run this website and email.
How long data is kept
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within 12 months. If we work together, records are kept for as long as needed for the engagement and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one item in your browser’s local storage — your light or dark theme preference — which never leaves your device. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.
If analytics are added in future, this notice will be updated and non-essential cookies will only be set with your consent.
